Lawson Hill

Coach Lawson attended Wofford College, where he was the starting catcher for five consecutive seasons and team captain from 2018 to 2022. He earned Southern Conference Player of the Year honors in 2022 and became Wofford’s all-time hits leader with 300 career hits. After college, he began his coaching career in Atlanta, Georgia, working with a top travel ball organization. Coach Lawson is available dfor hitting, fielding, and specialized catcher development—from beginners to advanced athletes.

Jack Merrifield

Coach Jack, a Baton Rouge native, brings a strong championship pedigree to our staff. He was an infielder on LSU’s 2023 national championship team and a key part of the program for two seasons. Prior to that, he played at LSU-Eunice, where he was a two-year captain, earned Defensive Player of the Year honors, and helped lead the team to the 2021 NJCAA national title as their starting second baseman. A former 2nd Team All-American, Coach Jack also has experience coaching both hitting and fielding.

Darryl Long

Speed and AgilityAthlete Strength & Conditioning

Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, Coach Darryl Long is a multi-sport athlete turned experienced performance coach and mentor. He attended Westerville South High School, where he was a standout three-sport athlete, earning varsity letters in football, basketball, and track. In his later high school years, he focused on football and track, receiving All-District and All-Regional honors as a tight end and in the shot put.

Coach Darryl began his collegiate football career at the University of Kentucky, redshirting his first season before contributing as an H-back and on multiple special teams units. He later transferred to the University of Akron, where he was named team captain his senior year. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management and went on to complete a Master’s Degree in Exercise Science.

After college, Coach Darryl began his professional journey as a Fitness Director and mentor at the nonprofit Directions for Youth and Families. He later served as a gym manager at a Hilton Hotel and worked as Assistant Sport Performance Director at Redline Athletics before joining the D1 team.

Coach Darryl holds a DOTFIT certification and a USA Football coaching certification. He brings a strong background in athletic performance, leadership, and youth mentorship to every athlete he trains.

Levi David

Coach Levi was a 9th-round MLB Draft pick by the New York Mets in 2021, recognized for his elite fastball (95–99 mph) and sharp curveball (86–90 mph).
A standout at Waxahachie High School, he was named District 10-5A MVP and selected as a Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association All-Star. He went on to pitch at McLennan Community College before transferring to Northwestern State University, where he made national waves in 2021—ranking 3rd in strikeouts per nine innings (15.34) and 7th in hits allowed per nine innings (5.02), while holding opposing hitters to a .161 average.
Following a successful stint in the Mets’ minor league system, Coach Levi now focuses on pitching development with an emphasis on biomechanics. He brings pro-level knowledge and a passion for helping pitchers reach their full potential.

David Bodzin

Baseball PitchingAthlete Strength & Conditioning

With over two decades of experience in baseball operations and player development, Coach David Bodzin brings a deep passion for the game and a strong commitment to helping athletes grow—on and off the field. He began his career as a bat boy and clubhouse manager for the Frisco RoughRiders and Texas Rangers from 2003 to 2010, then spent five years in operations with Arizona Baseball, contributing to the program’s 2012 National Championship.

Since 2023, Coach Bodzin has been a certified instructor with the National Pitching Association and Tom House Sports. His approach to pitching development prioritizes three key areas—in order: arm health, pitchability, and velocity.

A proud husband and father of two boys, Coach Bodzin is passionate about building confident, resilient young men by focusing on character development first and pitching performance second.

Luke Trahan

Baseball Pitching

Coach Luke grew up in Houston, throwing his first no hitter at age 10. While being a 2 way player (pitcher, 3rd base, and outfield) at The Woodlands College Park high school, he earned all state honors as a designated hitter as well as the #11 ranked pitcher in Texas in his 2018 class. As a pitcher at Dallas Baptist University he threw 94-98mph. After 4 years rotating roles between starting and closing at DBU, he transferred to the University of Southern Mississippi to pursue his masters degree. Throughout his 5 year collegiate career, he helped his team to 3 conference championship titles, 4 regionals, and 2 super regionals. Post college, Luke played professional baseball for a short time in American Association for the Chicago Dogs.

He is passionate about helping kids learn the game from an early age while also having a ton of fun. Luke hopes to pursue a strength and conditioning certification as well in the near future to incorporate that into his baseball coaching style.

Riley Shaefer

Coach Schaefer was a three-year starting outfielder at Texas Lutheran University. In his senior season, he led TLU to its first-ever National Championship appearance, finishing as the national runner-up. He posted an impressive .413 batting average, led the nation in hits, and broke the conference record for single-season hits.

Coach Schaefer capped off his collegiate career as a 1st Team All-American, NCAA Elite 90 Award recipient, and Regional MVP.

After hanging up his cleats, he pursued graduate studies in accounting and now works professionally in audit. Still deeply connected to the game, Coach Schaefer continues to train youth athletes—focusing on hitting, fielding, arm strength, and outfield-specific conditioning (especially for those looking to gun down runners at the plate).

Zach Burch

A 2015 graduate of Cedar Hill High School, Zach distinguished himself as an elite athlete, earning multiple All-District honors including 2nd Team All-District 1st Baseman (2013), 1st Team All-District 1st Baseman and 2nd Team All-District Pitcher (2014), and 1st Team All-District Pitcher as well as Team MVP (2015).

After high school, he played at Redlands Community College in El Reno, Oklahoma (2015-2017), where he consistently led the team in strikeouts. He continued his collegiate career at the University of Arkansas Fort Smith, earning Pitcher of the Week honors three times.

Larry David

Athlete Strength & Conditioning

With over 30 years of experience in strength and conditioning, Larry David brings unmatched intensity, discipline, and real-world training knowledge to the DPS team. A former Army Airborne Ranger and certified Master Fitness Trainer through the U.S. military, Larry has spent decades developing athletes through hands-on, high-impact programs that prioritize performance, mental toughness, and injury prevention.

Larry has led specialized training programs for youth and adult athletes across a variety of sports, with a strong focus on one-on-one development. His no-frills, results-driven approach is built on a proven track record—honed through years of experience rather than classroom theory. At DPS, Larry leads the Explosive Strength & Speed program, helping athletes build power, agility, and confidence on and off the field.

Brady Rose

Baseball Hitting

Originally from Westminster, Colorado, Brady was a multi-sport athlete at Standley Lake High School and ranked the 8th best left-handed pitcher in Colorado’s 2019 class. He began his collegiate career at McLennan Community College, helping lead the team to the 2021 NJCAA National Championship and earning First Team All-Conference honors.

Brady continued his career at Dallas Baptist University, where he posted an 8-4 record with 115 strikeouts over two seasons and held opponents to a .192 batting average. In 2023, he was selected in the 12th round of the MLB Draft by the New York Yankees and continues to pursue his professional career. As a coach, Brady focuses on developing well-rounded athletes by building strong fundamentals in pitching, hitting, fielding, and baseball IQ within a positive, growth-oriented environment.

Albert Najera

Baseball Hitting

With over 34 years of coaching experience, Coach Albert Najera brings deep knowledge and leadership to our program. He has served as a General Manager for multiple baseball organizations and is the Owner of Believe Baseball, a faith-based organization in Dallas.

Coach Najera has coached at both the high school and collegiate levels, including a standout tenure at Eastfield College, where his teams made back-to-back National Championship appearances. Most recently, he was an Assistant Coach at North Lake College in Irving.

While Coach Najera has coached every aspect of the game, his primary focus and passion lie in hitting and fielding development—helping athletes refine their skills and play with confidence and purpose.

Harry Wilonsky

Baseball Catching

Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Coach Harry Wilonsky brings passion, experience, and a deep understanding of the game to our program. A recent graduate of the University of Texas at Austin (Hook ’em Horns), Harry spent four seasons as the bullpen catcher for the Longhorns, where he trained under five pitching coaches and two head coaches. During his time in Austin, he worked alongside more than 40 professional pitchers, including over a dozen Major League players.

Currently, Coach Wilonsky is pursuing his studies in Mental Performance through the University of South Carolina, working toward his Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) credential. His coaching expertise centers on catching, pitching, and mental performance training, equipping athletes with both the physical and mental tools to reach their highest potential.

Coach Wilonsky is passionate about developing the next generation of ballplayers—helping them grow in skill, mindset, and love for the game.

Garrison Berkley

Baseball Hitting

Coach Garrison Berkley is a standout center fielder for Louisiana Tech, where he started all 55 games in 2025, hitting .293 with 52 runs, 16 doubles, and six home runs while leading the team in stolen bases.

Before joining LA Tech, Berkley played two seasons at UT Arlington, earning back-to-back WAC All-Tournament honors and leading the Mavericks in multiple offensive categories. He began his college career at TCU, where he was named to the Big 12 Academic All-Rookie Team.

Berkley specializes in outfield defense, base running, and hitting development, helping athletes refine their approach at the plate and improve overall athletic performance.

Caleb Barker

Baseball Hitting

Coach Caleb Barker brings a wealth of collegiate playing and coaching experience to our program. From 2017 to 2019, Barker served as an Assistant Coach at the University of Houston, where he coached catchers and contributed to the Cougars’ offensive development. During his tenure, Houston captured three conference titles (two regular season and one tournament) and made two NCAA Regional appearances.

Before his time at Houston, Barker spent the 2016 season as an Assistant Coach at Grayson College, helping guide one of the top junior college programs in the nation.

As a player, Barker was a standout starting catcher for the University of Houston, earning First Team All-American Athletic Conference honors in 2014. Known for his defensive excellence, he posted a .996 fielding percentage with just two errors and set a program record by throwing out 30 runners attempting to steal. He was also a two-time Johnny Bench Award Watch List honoree, recognizing the nation’s top collegiate catchers.

Coach Barker brings his extensive experience in catching development, defensive training, and offensive strategy to every athlete he works with—helping players build the skill, toughness, and consistency required to compete at the next level.

TJ Rumfield

T.J. Rumfield, a Gold Glove-winning first baseman in the New York Yankees organization, is now sharing his skills with the next generation of ballplayers!
From a two-sport high school standout to a college star and now the Yankees’ No. 27 prospect, T.J. knows what it takes to compete — and win — at every level. His professional experience, elite defensive ability, and big-league offensive power make him a valuable mentor for developing players.

Keegan Linehan

Keegan has been coaching for over 7 years, working with athletes at every level—from middle and high school students to college competitors and pros in the NFL and MLB, including NFL Combine prep. He also love’s helping everyday people move better, get stronger, and feel their best, whether they’re chasing athletic goals or just looking to live a healthier life.

Coach Keegan grew up playing multiple sports and took that passion all the way through college football, and even played professionally overseas! In 2024, Keegan was honored to be inducted into the American Football Events Hall of Fame as a hybrid Defensive Back/Linebacker, a recognition that means a lot to him and reflects years of hard work and love for the game.

With all of the training experiences and continuing education opportunities to gain the knowledge to serve quality products, Coach Keegan is willing to help you reach your goals to the best ability.

Brian Reagan

Baseball Hitting

Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Brian Reagan was a standout three-sport athlete in football, baseball, and track at Stratford High School, graduating in 1991. He received scholarship offers in all three sports and earned All-State and All-Greater Houston honors in baseball that same year.

Choosing to pursue baseball, Brian attended San Jacinto College, where he set the single-season batting average record of .468 and earned First Team All-American honors. His record still stands today.

With over 25 years of coaching experience at the high school, collegiate, and minor league levels, Coach Reagan has made a lasting impact on the game. He coached the Fort Worth Cats in 2013 and 2014 and has mentored hundreds of athletes who have gone on to compete at the collegiate level and beyond.

Kyle Amendt

Baseball Pitching

Originally for Pleasantville, Iowa. Kyle played four sports including baseball, football, basketball, and running track. He went to Southeastern Community College to continue playing baseball, where he led NJCAA D II in saves and was a First Team All-Region selection, Conference Reliever of the Year, and First Team All-Conference selection. He continued his career at Dallas Baptist University where he struck out 51 hitters in 25.2 innings of work held hitters to a .171 batting average. After DBU he got drafted in the 9th round by the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2023. He has since made it up to Triple A earning the Organization Pitcher of the Month in April.
