Background
Nick Krauth is a right-handed pitcher who signed with the Texas Rangers and spent five seasons in their organization, pitching from Low-A through Triple-A with the Down East Wood Ducks, Hickory Crawdads, Frisco RoughRiders, and Round Rock Express. He also pitched for Tomateros de Culiacán in the Mexican Pacific League.
Before pro ball, he was UConn’s ace in the shortened 2020 season, going 4-0 with a 0.36 ERA, 24 strikeouts, and a .167 opponent average in 24.2 innings, including wins over ranked Michigan. At Diablo Valley College, he was First Team All-Big 8 after a 5-4, 2.20 ERA season with 74 strikeouts in 86 innings. At Northgate High School in Concord, California, he posted a 2.20 ERA as a senior with 64 strikeouts in 66.2 innings.
At DPS, Nick teaches private hitting and pitching lessons and clinics. On the mound, he works on pitch sequencing, strike-throwing, and a plan for each hitter. In the cage, he works on swing mechanics, timing, and an approach that travels from the lesson to the game.
