Coach DJ was a four-year starter at Brown University and a First Team All-Ivy infielder. A 6-4 right-handed hitter from Tullahoma, Tennessee, he started every game of his final three seasons, primarily at shortstop before moving to third base as a senior. In 2026 he earned First Team All-Ivy and CSC Academic All-District honors, hitting .272 with 5 home runs and a team-high 41 RBIs while starting all 43 games. He was Second Team All-Ivy in 2025 after leading Brown with 30 RBIs and tying for the team lead with 6 home runs, and he ranked among the Ivy League leaders with 101 assists at shortstop. Over four seasons he hit .282 with 17 home runs and 120 RBIs.
At Tullahoma High School he was a 2022 Perfect Game Preseason All-American, a first-team all-state selection, and a top-500 national prospect. He was also an all-region football player and the valedictorian of the Class of 2022. He concentrated in Business Economics and International and Public Affairs at Brown.
